Billing for Municipal Waste Collection Services

bill example

Waste collection services, including garbage, recyclables and brush collection, are provided to San Antonio residents by their municipal government – the City of San Antonio. These services are supported by user fees collected as part of each resident’s monthly CPS Energy bill.

CPS Energy, as Greater San Antonio’s electric and natural gas utility, is not responsible for administering residential or commercial waste collection services. However, the City of San Antonio utilizes CPS Energy bills as a convenient and efficient means of processing monthly waste collection fees, including the Garbage/Conversion Fee, the Brush Fee and the Environmental Services Fee -- listed under “City Services” on the back of your CPS Energy bill.

If you have questions regarding waste collection services, call the City of San Antonio’s customer service line at 311. For more information regarding waste collection services, see the City’s Solid Waste Management Department Web site.

If you have questions regarding your electric and natural gas service, call CPS Energy at 353-2222.
