Casa Verde is a free home weatherization program offered by CPS Energy. The program enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their home more energy efficient.
Despite recent rains, Texas remains in a drought and forecasts for a dry, hot summer are expected to lead to utility bills that are nine percent higher than in the summer of 2012.
CPS Energy customers with the Home Manager energy management system can now control their energy use anytime, anywhere, with any smart device. A new mobile app and tablet interface is now available for the free system.
CPS Energy’s proposal to initiate SunCredit, a price-per-kilowatt hour for rooftop solar installations, is under further review. Input received from solar customers, the solar industry and other stakeholders prompted utility executives to place the proposal on hold until May 31, 2014.
CPS Energy's Green Shade Tree Rebate ends on April 30. Customers who purchase and plant a qualifying tree can receive a $50 rebate, with a maximum of five rebates per household.
