CPS Energy Board Makes Advisory Committee Appointments

12/20/2010

The CPS Energy Board of Trustees appointed two new members to the natural gas and electric utility’s Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) during today’s regular board meeting.

The CAC and CPS Energy staff recommended Colonel Katrina Glavan-Heise, chief nurse at Lackland Air Force Base; and Michael Moczygemba, retired marketing vice president, USAA, to serve as at-large members to replace John Pavlovsky and Lori Elmer, respectively, who have ended their terms of service.

Colonel Glavan-Heise’s term commenced retroactively on November 1, 2010 and will expire on October 31, 2012; while Moczygemba’s appointment will start on January 1, 2011 and will end on December 21, 2013.

Created in 1997, the CAC provides input to the Board on proposed projects and major issues affecting customers in CPS Energy’s Greater San Antonio service area.  Committee members can serve up to three two-year terms, for a total of six years.

The CAC has 10 members appointed by the San Antonio City Council to represent each district. Additionally, the committee includes five at-large members.

CPS Energy is the nation's largest municipally owned natural gas and electric utility, providing service to approximately 717,000 electric customers and 325,000 natural gas customers in and around the city of San Antonio. The utility ranks among the nation's lowest-cost energy providers while ranking number 1 in wind-energy capacity among municipally owned utilities.
